To provide support to families affected by mental illness and suicide.

Karla Smith Foundation was founded in 2005 to provide support to families affected by the mental illness or suicide of a loved one, to educate others to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and to advocate on behalf of families affected by mental illness. Karla Smith Foundation offers support groups, peer to peer mentoring, education and awareness events, financial aid for support group members, Family Connect events to establish meaningful relationships between support group members and their families, college and university programs, and free educational materials.
