Mission:
The mission of the Camden County Independent Family Support organization is to assist families with children who have behavioral or mental health issues in the NJ Div of Children's System of Care. We will ensure the family voice is heard in all planning, coordination and delivery of services. As parents who have experienced these issues with our own children, we will work with families by providing face to face support for intensive families, offer appropriate education and promote self-advocacy.

Description:
Camden County Independent Family Support Organization, is an organization designed, buildt, and run by Family Members of emotionally and/or behaviorally challenged children in Camden County. CCFSO works in conjunciton with the Camden County partnership for Children to carry out the philosophies and objectives of the NJ Div of Childrens System of Care.

Organization role:
• Sponsor/run support groups for families or youth
• Provide education to families or youth on issues of interest
• Provide training and mentoring of family members or youth (e.g., to assume leadership roles, act as provider)
• Provide training and presentations to system of care/child serving agencies or community
• Recruit family members or youth for positions within child serving agencies
• Participate in child serving system/system of care policy-making and leadership groups
• Participate in child serving system/system of care management meetings
• Provide advocacy

• A family-run or youth-guided organization with a current or past affiliation with a System of Care Community of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program (i.e., CMHS System of Care grant site)
